About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse with previous experience and a passion for the Child Health care specialty to join our paediatric medical team.

This role will enable you to grow as a paediatric nurse by giving you opportunities to learn and develop your own skills while in turn you can share with us your skills. A full orientation is provided for all new staff.

About the Service

Ward A7 - Children - s High Care comprises of a 24 bed ward and 8 bed high dependency unit. Whilst primarily a paediatric medical ward, Ward A7 offers an interesting variety of patient types and provides care for infants, children and young people up to 15 years. Children - s High Care caters for patients under the care of all paediatric specialties who require a higher level of monitoring or more intensive nursing care. Our team works across both these areas.

About you

We are looking for a Registered Nurse with Paediatric and/or hospital nursing experience to join the team.

  • Previous Paediatric experience is desirable but not essential
  • 2+ years nursing experience in a hospital
  • A passion to engage with and provide holistic care for children and their families
  • The ability to work across Morning, Afternoon and Nights
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to work efficiently and effectively in a dynamic multidisciplinary team
  • The ability to work well under pressure
  • Confidence, initiative and a proactive, solution focused approach to work
  • Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
