About the Role  

We have a position available for a NZ registered nurse with experience in Radiology nursing.

Responsibilities include consenting and preparing patients for procedures, administering contrast for CT scans, working alongside Medical Imaging Technologists and Radiologists doing interventional procedures which include biopsies, drainages, aspirations, spinal injections, CT colonography and Cardiac CT. This role also allows upskilling to ultrasound vascular access skills. 

About the Team/Location

Wairau Hospital Radiology is a well-equipped department, offering a range of imaging services.  As the sole Radiology nurse within the department, you will work amongst a variety of modalities including ultrasound, CT, and Mammography.  Support and upskilling will be provided by your nursing colleagues in Nelson Hospital Radiology. 

About You

  • NZ registered nurse with at least two years nursing experience.
  • Flexible and adaptable with the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Enjoy being part of a team that values teamwork, respects individual needs and is motivated by excellent clinical outcomes.
  • Provide a high standard compassionate care to patients, ensuring comfort and understanding throughout their imaging experience.
  • Knowledge and experience of interventional radiology is desirable, and IV cannulation certificate would be advantageous.
