About the Role
The Perioperative Department is currently looking for an experienced Surgical Admission Unit (SAU) Registered Nurse to join their vibrant and innovative nursing team working in particular working in the surgical admissions unit. This role requires you to be part of a 24 hour rotating roster, to cover all shifts.
About the Team/Service/ Location
Working at Whakatāne Hospital, you will be part of a highly skilled, and supportive team in the perioperative department. In this role you will be supported and encouraged to develop your skills within the team – including progression via PDRP and post graduate education.

About you
Our preferred candidates will have:
- Recent acute and / or perioperative experience
- A current NZ nursing registration, current practising certificate
- A passion for quality and the ability to care for patients undergoing a variety of acute and elective surgical procedures
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
