About the Role
An
exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Transit Team.
As
Transit Nurse you will be assessing and providing essential acute clinical care
to patients whilst transiting to various locations around Christchurch campus.
The role provides you with an opportunity to work with a level of autonomy in
your day.
In addition you may also be called upon
to support the campus Duty Nurse Management as Clinical Support/Resource Nurse.
This role works across the campus supporting various services who are under
pressure.
You
will be based across Christchurch campus. Hours of work are 24/7, 8-hour
shifts.
About the Service
Transit
Care Nursing is a vital part of the hospital flow process, supporting patient
movement between departments. The transit team are a group of skilled
Registered Nurses providing an essential service to the organisation. The
transit team interact with many specialities across the Christchurch campus.
About you
This
role requires skilled nurses who can think laterally and work autonomously in a
varied, ever-changing environment. The successful candidate will have strong
communication with exceptional interpersonal skills who have recent experience
working within an Acute, Emergency or Critical Care setting.
- You must have a minimum of 5 years nursing experience in acute, emergency, or critical care setting
- Excellent Communication and Interpersonal skills
- High levels of written communication skills and practical nursing knowledge
- Cannulation and Venepuncture competent
- CVAD Competency
- Male catheterisation competency
- Computer literacy with Microsoft
- PDRP Proficient
- Postgraduate certificate in advanced nursing practice (Desirable/willing to work towards)
- Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC)
