About the Role

We have a wonderful permanent part-time opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our Level 2 Wahanga Piripoho – Neonatal Unit based at Tauranga Hospital, working 0.8 FTE (32 hours per week).

This dynamic and rewarding role involves providing high-dependency neonatal care, including CPAP, High Flow, TPN, and pre-transfer stabilisation.  You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, family-centred care for babies requiring close observation and support during a critical time in their development.

About you

We seek a capable and committed Registered Nurse with an adaptable mindset and a patient-first attitude.  You will thrive in a multidisciplinary team and are comfortable working a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and nights.  You will bring strong clinical reasoning, remain calm under pressure, and a natural empathy that helps families feel supported during their NICU journey.

What you will bring:

  • Current NZ Nursing Registration and Annual Practicing Certificate.
  • At least two years' nursing experience (neonatal experience preferred).
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills.
  • A willingness to learn and grow within a specialised care environment.
  • A commitment to cultural safety and family-centred care.
