About the Role

We invite Registered Psychologist's (clinical or educational) to apply for this exciting opportunity, supporting the Child Health Integrated Response Pathway (CHIRP) team.  

CHIRP is an innovative approach to coordinating specialist support for children who present with developmental, attentional and behavioural concerns. By bringing together current child focused services we are working to deliver a Tamariki and whānau centred response that is efficient, timely, responsive and most importantly makes a difference. 

You would be utilising your clinical skills to coordinate, connect, assess, support and guide whānau, whilst also informing and developing the project potential.

CHIRP and Child Mental Health Services Tauranga is committed to implementing high standard models of therapeutic treatment, as well as the necessary training and ongoing supervision that such pathways require.  There are hospital wide forums for psychologists and psychiatrists to network and share professional development opportunities.

About You

The successful applicant will be a registered clinical psychologist and will bring experience, energy and passion to work with children and families; along with the desire to work in a multidisciplinary team that focuses on family centred care.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Be a New Zealand Registered Clinical Psychologist.
  • Have postgraduate training in clinical psychology and other relevant postgraduate training.
  • Have experience in the psychological assessment of children/adolescent with a range of mental health presentations alongside experiences of trauma, attachment difficulties, and neurodevelopmental conditions.
  • Have experience in complex formulation and treatment planning.
  • Demonstrate competence in trauma-informed practice.
  • Demonstrate competence in working with neurodivergence. 
  • Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi in your practice.
