Under the Health and Disability Commissioner Act 1994 (the Act), the Health and Disability Commissioner (HDC) is required to promote and protect the rights of health and disability services consumers and facilitate the fair and efficient resolution of complaints relating to infringement of those rights.
Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role
The Report Anonymiser will deliver high quality work to support HDC's communications process, providing trusted and reliable anonymizing expertise.
The role of the Report Anonymiser is to ensure reports on HDC's investigation of complaints are correctly anonymised prior to their publication on HDC's website.
Key Responsibilities:
Report anonymisation
• Removing identifying features from final opinions in preparation for publication or distribution, in accordance with HDC's anonymisation guidelines, HDC's information management strategy and other relevant policies.
Editing and proofreading
• Overseeing and refining written content to ensure it is clear, accurate, and appropriate for its intended audience and purpose.

Excellent editing and proof-reading skills, a high level of attention to detail, strong written communication skills, and the ability to work independently within prescribed turnaround times are essential for this role.
Key selection criteria:
- Relevant qualifications or experience in anonymizing documents/ proof reading is essential
- Strong attention to detail
- Well-developed analytical skills
- Proven ability to write to a high standard (clear, accurate, concise, appropriate to audience)
- Ability to work independently and use initiative
- Personal integrity, sound judgement and an honest and ethical approach.
- High level of competence in MS Office suite and information technology more generally

Awhe utu - Salary range
As part of HDC's remuneration framework, the base salary range for this position (based on 1.0 FTE) is $64,322 to $80,402, depending on the candidate's experience. For part-time roles, the salary will be pro-rated accordingly.
Please note that KiwiSaver and employer contributions are additional to the base salary.
