About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced physiotherapist to join our acute inpatient physiotherapy services and multidisciplinary allied health teams at Hawke’s Bay Hospital.
This permanent position lies within our well established and welcoming medical and respiratory services which includes both acute wards and ICU. These wards cover medical, respiratory and cardiac care. You will be working closely with a multidisciplinary team in a proactive patient centred environment. This role will be challenging but rewarding and you will be an important component in the patient’s recovery journey. This role would be ideally suited for someone who has completed rotations in an acute hospital setting, has respiratory physio experience and knowledge and is looking for their next career step, in a supportive environment, whilst also supporting other less experienced clinicians. The role does include being occasionally rostered to cover a weekend/public holiday physiotherapy service.

About you
We’re looking for someone who has solid clinical skills, excellent communication and a passion for working in fast paced acute environments. Enthusiasm for supporting and developing others and becoming involved in service improvement is essential and will be supported within the role.
You will also need the following key attributes and skills:
- Bachelor of Physiotherapy, or equivalent
- New Zealand Registered Physiotherapist with current annual practising certificate (APC)
- Clean current full NZ driver’s licence
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to build rapport and constructive and effective relationships
- Positive attitude with problem solving focus
