Rotational Pharmacist: North Shore and Waitākere Hospitals: Permanent Full Time

  • Our busy inpatient dispensary service serves the medication needs of 1000+ inpatients using systems that are well-integrated and future-focused.
  • As a successful candidate you can look forward to participating in our core operational functions and ward-based clinical practice, practicing as a core member of the clinical team alongside our medical, nursing and allied colleagues.

About the Role

  • Our rotational program for clinical pharmacists provides a solid foundation in medical, surgical, orthopaedic and older adult care. With rotations based at North Shore and Waitakere Hospitals you get to experience the dynamics of a large centre and a local service.
  • Our pharmacists participate in ward rounds, optimise medication use for patients, screen for medication issues on admission, provide discharge counselling, and promote the safe and quality use of medicines across the whole organisation.
  • Waitematā is well known for developing electronic systems that make our working life easier – so you can work with all the records you need right on screen.

About you

As a Rotational Clinical Pharmacist you will need:

  • 1-2 years’ experience as a hospital pharmacist in New Zealand
  • Enrolment in, or planning to enrol in a Post Graduate Clinical Certificate in Pharmacy
