Contract: 12 months fixed-term, full-time

About the Role 

This is a front-line position, primarily responsible for ensuring security requirements of the unit are maintained. You will provide vital administrative support that enables team members to provide a safe, quality service, and ensure health professionals receive information they need in a timely manner. You will be situated at the main reception area and ensure that timely entry for staff & visitors is also maintained.

The full salary range for this position is $66,611 - $75,628.

About the Team

This position is located in the Regional arm of Te Korowai Whariki which includes the Central Regional Forensic Mental Health service. We operate as the interface between Mental Health Services and the Justice System and work within prisons, courts, community and inpatient settings.

We are a multi-disciplinary team including psychiatrists and other medical staff, psychologists, nurses, occupational therapists, social workers and administration staff. Our focus is on assessment and treatment for those who are admitted through the courts or prisons. 

About you 

We are looking for the following:

  • Well-developed written and oral skills - the ability to communicate ideas in writing and verbally
  • The ability to make good decisions under pressure and to handle a range of competing pressures at one time
  • Experience in public or community relations or events management
  • Experience in a corporate environment with exposure in dealing with stakeholder and customer relations
  • Can be trusted implicitly with confidential information 

Experience in working in the health industry and an understanding of clinical governance is also advantageous but not essential.
