WellStop is a community-based organisation that aims to eliminate harmful sexual behaviour in our communities across the lower North Island. They want to help create strong safe communities by working with others: individuals, families, communities, professionals to achieve this goal.
 
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for leading key finance functions across WellStop – from payroll and reporting to budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day finance functions, including payroll, accounts, and compliance.
  • Lead preparation of monthly and annual financial reports and support the audit process.
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial planning in collaboration with managers.
  • Provide strategic financial advice to support decision-making and contractual obligations.
  • Strengthen internal controls, improve systems, and maintain data accuracy.
  • Support wider corporate functions such as property and fleet management.
  • Build strong relationships across the organisation and with external stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership and support to finance team members.

About You:

  • Proven experience in accounting, finance, and reporting (ideally CA or CPA qualified).
  • Excellent analytical, planning, and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to translate complex financial information to non-financial audiences.
  • A values-led approach, with commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and cultural capability.
  • An eye for detail and the ability to maintain high standards under pressure.
  • A passion for contributing to the wellbeing of communities and making a difference.
