The Crown Response Office was established in September 2024 to coordinate and facilitate cross-government decision making and implement the Crown's response to the Abuse in Care Royal Commission of Inquiry. The Office sits within the Public Service Commission. The creation of the Office within a central Government agency was a key recommendation in the Royal Commission's final report, Whanaketia – through pain and trauma, from darkness to light.
The Crown Response Office plays an important strategic, advisory and coordination role to ensure the Crown is joined up and focused on the right priorities.
The Senior Administrator is responsible for providing confidential, high quality and efficient administrative support to the Crown Response Office.
The key focus of this role is providing a wide variety of administrative services to assist the Crown Response Office in achieving quality outcomes and ensuring the processes that support our teams are highly efficient, effective, and organised.
Key accountabilities include:

Manage, provide and guide the provision of administrative services to the Enabling Services function, and the wider Crown Response Office, ensuring a high level of support is provided.

Participate in administrative development and maintenance, including improvements of administrative support standards for systems and internal procedures.

Support smooth and efficient operations, including, but not limited to, accounts management, travel bookings, record keeping, and coordination of group correspondence.

Assist in budget monitoring, ensuring adherence to financial guidelines and tracking expenses.
You will bring:

Experience in administration in a public and/or state sector environment.

Knowledge of government accounting and administrative procedures.

Competence in the daily use of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint).

Exceptional organisational, planning and communication skills.

A collaborative approach and the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.

Experience providing strong administrative services in a complex and fast-paced environment.
This is a fixed term or secondment opportunity to 30 June 2027.
