- Ensuring our advice is strongly whakaaro Māori based and advances the interests of wellbeing outcomes for Māori and all New Zealanders
- Contributing to policy and strategy work that is being led by others across the Group by providing accurate, objective analysis and advice within specified timeframes
As a Senior Advisor, you will be responsible for supporting the achievement of the Ministry's objectives by leading and contributing to the development of timely, accurate, whakaaro Māori based advice on complex policy issues.
This position requires someone who is able to manage their time across multiple pieces of work, while maintaining the delivery of high quality advice. The role is expected to be agile, and at times may provide for movement among the different teams and policy and strategy areas across the broader Ātea a Rangi Group.
He pūkenga tou/Skills and Experience
- A tertiary degree in a relevant field or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience
- Providing written reports and presentation to a high standard, including high levels of accuracy
- Providing policy advice in a public sector organisation and demonstrable experience in a relevant field
- An understanding of public sector systems and processes, including accountability requirements and the use of performance information to inform decision-making.
Competency in te reo rangatira me ōna tikanga is highly valued however it is not a requirement for the role.

Utu ā-tau/Salary
The appointing salary for this role is $110,766 - $154,680 based on skills and experience.
