This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week.
The remuneration midpoint for this role is $127,816 (including KiwiSaver) depending on skills and experience.
The opportunity
The Senior Advisor Sustainability and Resilience plays a key role in integrating sustainability and resilience principles into Wellington Water's planning and operational activities. This position provides expert advice, strategic analysis, and coordination to ensure that Wellington Water's Three Waters services, water, wastewater, and stormwater, are safe, reliable, compliant, and affordable for current and future generations. The role is central to advancing Wellington Waters approach to climate change mitigation and adaptation, ensuring the long-term sustainability of essential water services.
The activities expected in the role include:
- Supporting the development and implementation of sustainability and resilience plans and policies
- Conducting research and analysis on emerging sustainability practices relevant to the water sector
- Preparing reports and briefings for internal and external stakeholders
- Coordinating cross-functional projects
- Identifying and evaluating opportunities for innovation.
About you
To be successful in this role you will bring:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in sustainability, engineering, infrastructure, environmental planning or applicable area of study
- Ideally 10 years' experience in developing, monitoring, and evaluating sustainability plans and policies
- The ability to influence culture and implement good practices across the organisation
- Experience in presenting and facilitating senior-level discussions
- Experience working across multiple pieces of work with conflicting timeframes and complexity
- A proven ability to collaborate effectively by surfacing key issues, bringing the right people together, and facilitating strong decision-making.
