The Water Services Authority - Taumata Arowai is the water services regulator for Aotearoa New Zealand. It is a Crown entity governed by a Minister-appointed Board and advised on Māori interests and knowledge by Te Puna, a statutory Māori Advisory Group. Our responsibilities are to protect and promote drinking water safety and related public health outcomes - we regulate drinking water suppliers on behalf of the public. We also have an oversight role in relation to the environmental performance of drinking water, wastewater and stormwater networks.

Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role
We're seeking an experienced Senior Azure Cloud Engineer to provide in-house services for our Azure cloud based systems. You'll be joining a small, close-knit team giving you an opportunity to lead initiatives and drive strategic, forward-focussed solutions.
In this role, you'll:
- Lead the design and build of modern integrations using Azure Integration Services
- Develop and maintain Azure API Management Service APIs for internal and external clients
- Lead our system preparedness and the monitoring of security and critical system events
- Provide thought leadership and design advice to the Technology Services Team
- Manage the automation processes for routine system administration tasks

Ko koe tēnei | About you
We are looking for someone with:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- A strong understanding of ICT Security and cloud data infrastructure
- An in-depth understanding of the Microsoft Azure cloud ecosystem; particularly with data integration tools
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate to audiences with varying levels of technical skills on a range of complex issues
- Relevant Microsoft Certifications (Azure Data Engineer, Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect) are desirable
