Role type: Fixed-term, full-time until 23 December 2026

Location: Wellington

Salary band & range: General Salary Range D: $100,934  to $118,005 depending on skills and experience

 

 

About the Role - Kōrero mō te tūranga

We are seeking two people to fill our Senior Business Analysts vacancies who will be responsible for providing business analysis, process, and reporting advice, across the full lifecycle from development to implementation.

Your core role is to clarify and articulate the system and functional requirements (user stories) including supporting models and artefacts where appropriate for the required system development.

Developing a sufficient understanding of the impact of proposed Regulation amendments will be valuable as this environment can be technical and complex.

You will be working in an agile scrum environment, so an appreciation for the Agile methodology is important.

You'll engage with key stakeholders to elicit requirements. This includes key SME's in the ETS operations team and ETS product management team as well as vendors and MPI IT teams.

 

Your key skills will include:

  • Interviewing users and stakeholders
  • Writing requirements/user stories
  • Interacting with IT teams and vendors
  • Salesforce and ArcGIS systems

 

About You - Mōu

To be successful in this role, you will have strong business analysis experience in a large and complex environment at a senior level, as well as significant analysis and reporting knowledge.

You are confident dealing with a range of technology and stakeholders and love to utilise your experience within the agile scrum methodologies.

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will also have strong experience gathering requirements from a range of stakeholders, developing detailed functional requirements, and documenting the user experience from their perspective for both internal and external user.

Importantly, you will have excellent communication and relationship management skills with the ability to work on multiple reporting activities and be able to make sense of complex or ambiguous issues and determine the most appropriate response.

About the Team - Mō tō mātou rōpū

Based in the Charles Fergusson Building, comprised of  three other business analysts in the team working on different projects.  You will join our happy, social team who are focussed on getting the work done and care about their role in climate change. Be part of the climate change solution with ETS as our mechanism for reducing carbon emissions. The better the system works, the more impact we can have on climate change in New Zealand.
