Senior Civil Engineer (Client-Side)

With the 2024 pipeline looking strong, a rare and exciting opportunity to join one of the leading Land Developers in the Country has just arisen for an experienced Senior Civil Engineer.

This business has been operating successfully in the market for a considerable period of time, delivering high quality developments across the residential and industrial sectors. 

A unique feature of this business is that they have their own in-house civil engineering design team. 

The role:

Now, due to large developments underway they are looking to grow their internal capability by hiring a Senior Engineer. You will be involved with the delivery of large developments, as well as ideally managing graduate to intermediate engineers/designers, as well as external stakeholders such as Vector and Chorus. There is a bit of flexibility in the role however and it's really about the right fit, so if you are either less experienced, or more experienced than mentioned, don't hesitate to reach out.  

The major difference with working client side is that you are sitting alongside the decision makers, meaning no more niggly clients.

You:

You will get real ownership of your projects and get to see them right through to conclusion, with everything you design getting built. You also won't have the time pressure of a usual consultancy design role, with no timesheets. This is because working for the client there is no changeout rate, it's about producing the best possible design. There is also the opportunity to get exposure to managing younger Engineers/Designers, as well as external relationships on behalf of the business.  

To be successful in this role you will need;

• At least 5 years land development/infrastructure design experience, preferably in Auckland. 
• Tertiary Engineering or Engineering Technology qualification. Working towards CPEng would be an advantage, although not essential. 
• Experienced with AutoCAD and Civil 12D. 
• Strong communicator, both written and verbal.
