You’ll collaborate with clients, contractors, and consultants to ensure the delivery of practical, code-compliant and buildable solutions, and be supported by a leadership team known for technical rigour and project excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Structural design and analysis of a wide range of civil infrastructure, including; Road and pedestrian bridges (concrete, steel, timber), Water and wastewater treatment structures, Reservoirs and tanks (including prestressed and post-tensioned concrete), Wharf and port infrastructure, Retaining walls, culverts, towers, and foundations
- Carrying out seismic design and assessment of both new and existing structures
- Performing structural inspections and preparing assessment reports
- Leading technical input on multidisciplinary infrastructure projects
- Liaising with contractors and clients during construction for site inspections and RFI responses
- Preparing clear, high-quality technical documentation, calculations, and client presentations
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- 5+ years' experience in civil/infrastructure structural design
- Strong understanding of NZ design codes
- Proficient in structural analysis and modelling software
- Familiarity with reinforced and prestressed concrete, steel and timber design
- Experience with site-based construction monitoring and structural inspections
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and in team settings
- CPEng or working towards it would be advantageous
