Mō te tūranga | About the role
We are looking for a Senior Communications Adviser to join our Communications team in either Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) or Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington). You will provide strategic communications counsel, develop plans, and implement activity to support our three regulatory branches.
The indicative salary range for this role is $122,320 – 143,905 plus 3% KiwiSaver employer contribution. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects their individual skills, experience, and internal relativities across the organisation.
You will be the trusted strategic business partner for a number of portfolios within one or more of our branches, providing high quality communications advice, support, and leadership to the teams you work with. You will also be part of a team of communications professionals who work across all aspects of the Commission's work.
The role will include all facets of external communications including strategic communications planning and delivery, media management, preparing content for our website and social channels, and contributing to how we tell our story to a wide range of stakeholders, including bringing this work to life with our own team across the Commission.
Communications experience in the infrastructure, technology, or business sectors would be beneficial.

You will be able to demonstrate experience dealing with complex, legal, and technical information, with a knack to communicate this in simple and easy-to-understand language for different audiences.
With proven expertise across the communications spectrum and a particular flair for writing and media relations you will be able to give great communications advice and build strong relationships, particularly within your partner branch. You will also enjoy taking on new challenges, applying creativity and energy to develop innovative ideas and practical solutions that help build a positive awareness and understanding of the Commission and the value we deliver.
