Senior data analyst (Permanent)

Mō tēnei tūranga | About this role

This role is permanent and based in Wellington. Reporting to the Chief of Data and Insights you will play a pivotal role in designing and managing data collection and storage systems that support ERO's strategic goals. You'll lead data projects across ERO and collaborate with other education sector agencies, schools, and early childhood education centres to ensure our data infrastructure is fit for purpose, scalable, and secure. We see you bringing a passion for database design, data governance, and using data to drive insights and as a catalyst for change.

We want to hear about any of the following in your cover letter and CV:

  • Provide examples of how your experience designing and managing systems to ensure data is accurate, consistent, and reliable.
  • Tell us about your advanced technical skills using computer programming to manage and interrogate data, such as SQL, Python, R, Power BI, or similar. Any experience in Microsoft Azure data engineering including Data Factory and Power BI would be a bonus.
  • Provide examples of developing processes for governing and managing datasets, including how they are to be used and accessed.
  • Show how you have demonstrated leadership in designing, developing and delivering a data project. E.g., led by example, demonstrated problem solving, owned a project or piece of work, or spoken up for yourself or others.
