About this role |Mō tēnei tūranga

 

We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst to work within the Charter School Agency to help monitor the performance of charter schools| kura Hourua.

 

Building on their experience managing data in the public service, the Senior Data Analyst will collect, organise, analyse, and interpret data about the performance of individual charter schools, to provide insights about the operation of charter schools and lessons for the wider educational system.

 

This role will suit a skilled communicator who can translate complex technical data into clear, understandable language for stakeholders, while also articulating business requirements and feedback into precise technical specifications for data teams.

 

You will need strong quantitative analysis skills and in-depth understanding of gathering and analysing data to providing insights, as well as a willingness to build on your skills. We value curious and creative minds who have a particular interest in education.
 

Salary range: $99,496 -$120,690 per annum + 3% kiwisaver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary based on their individual skills and experience.

About you | Mōhou ake


To be successful in this role you will have the following capabilities and competencies:i
 

  • Experience of using best practice approaches to design processes for, and implement the collection, management, analysis of data and information.
  • Experience in developing measurement frameworks and methodologies to monitor performance, ideally in the education sector.
  • Advanced technical skills using computer programming (e.g. MS Excel, R-studio, Power BI, Stata, SQL) to collect, manage, analyse and visualise data.
  • Experience and confidence in communicating and presenting data for multiple audiences.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in a relevant field (post-graduate preferred) or equivalent level of practical experience required.
  • A track record of excellent service and dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.
  • Experience in working in a high-paced, agile environment with the ability to think on your feet.
  • Good written communication skills

The Charter School Agency is a departmental agency established on 1 July 2024 to implement and operate the new charter school model, including negotiating, managing contracts, and delivering funding. The Charter School Agency supports the Authorisation Board to approve charter schools, monitor their performance and hold them to account. This role will be part of the establishment team in the agency and work across all areas of our business. It will report to the Head of Engagement and Monitoring.
