Tēnei tūranga - About the Role:

We have an exciting 12-month fixed term position as a Senior IPTO to join our team based in Māngere, at Te Āhuru Mōwai o Aotearoa (New Zealand Refugee Resettlement Centre). The Refugee Quota Programme is responsible for the selection and resettlement of the refugees under the Refugee Quota Programmes.  


The objective of the Refugee Quota Programme is to provide a safe haven and resettle refugees who have been referred by the United National High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), in line with New Zealand’s national, international and humanitarian obligations and commitments.  

You will be working with the IPTO team to deliver the approved Refugee Quota Programmes by engaging in planning regional composition, projecting quota needs and arranging documentation. This also includes health screening, negotiating and coordinating travel logistics with offshore authorities across all departure countries and onward travel to settlement regions. You will also provide mentoring, guidance and training to the IPTO team to ensure quality outcomes.

Skills and Experience Required
 

  • Excellent organisational skills, with an ability to prioritise and manage high workloads in sometimes challenging situations and to meet deadlines
  • Proven experience in a role requiring a high level of service
  • Demonstrate a strong technical understanding and expertise of data integration  
  • Proven experience in delivery of service to a wide range of stakeholders and working collaboratively
  • Previous experience dealing with internal and external agencies for organising travel and medical arrangements
  • Sound communication skills, both written and verbal a requirement
  • Sound analytical skills and a demonstrated ability to exercise sound, reasoned judgement and problem-solving ability
  • Sensitivity to individual, gender and cultural differences in colleagues and clients
  • Ability to discreetly deal with confidential information
  • Cultural competency and effective communication across a variety of cultural groups

 

To be eligible all applicants must be a New Zealand citizen or hold a Permanent resident Visa.
