Are you a motivated, strategic thinker with a passion for working with stakeholders? Ready to make a significant impact by reducing preventable search and rescue incidents across Aotearoa? We have an exciting opportunity for you in a role that brings together key stakeholders to enhance land safety.

As the Senior Land Safety Forum Advisor, you will lead the facilitation of a cross-sector land safety forum. This forum consists of agencies, land managers, outdoor user representatives, and SAR prevention organisations. Your role will grow the coordination across the sector for land-based incidents, will foster collaboration, integration, and coordination to reduce preventable SAR incidents.

To achieve meaningful results in this role, you will need expertise in land safety management  and top facilitation skills and the ability to engage and inspire multiple stakeholders toward a common goal. While you will receive support from DOC at all levels, the role requires autonomy and independence. Your initiative and self-efficacy will be instrumental in achieving success.

This is a fixed term opportunity until June 2028.

  • Advanced skills in facilitation and stakeholder management in a challenging environment.
  • Experience in developing multi-year strategies and plans across sectors.
  • Proven track record in managing multi-year projects involving multiple stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of the land safety environment in New Zealand.
  • Ability to manage budgeting and funding allocation processes.

The salary range for this position is $92,450 to $116,985 per annum, with the starting salary of the successful applicant based on their relevant skills and experience.

Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory – this includes holding a valid work visa that covers the whole period of employment.
