Te Tūranga | The Role

We're looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join our Enforcement team preferably in our Auckland office on a 6-month fixed term contract. 

Our Enforcement team is responsible for all legal matters pertaining to FMA investigations and enforcement action in response to misconduct and contraventions of financial markets legislation.

In this role, you'll provide high quality legal advice in relation to investigations, litigation and other enforcement action, to ensure FMA's enforcement goals are achieved, and that the enforcement function reinforces FMA's reputation as a strong, effective, proactive and respected organisation.

He kōrero mōu | About you

This position is suited to an experienced solicitor with a litigation background. As this is a fixed term contract, we are looking for someone that can hit the ground running who will bring with them considerable post qualification experience, and a current practising certificate (or entitlement to one).

Ideally, you will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the financial services industry and of civil procedure (essential) or criminal procedure (desirable), but it will be your drive, enthusiasm and adaptability that will allow you to truly excel in this role. Your strong interpersonal and communication skills will be just as important as your technical abilities.
