This is an exciting opportunity to join Health New Zealand and play a crucial role in recruiting in our Senior Medical Officers, directly contributing to achieving national health targets. As a Senior SMO Recruitment Advisor, you will provide strategic and operational recruitment guidance, advice, and support to people leaders. You will be responsible for delivering candidate-centric recruitment services, ensuring a seamless experience for both candidates and hiring managers. Additionally, you will mentor and support junior team members and lead portfolio-specific projects and recruitment events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the full recruitment process of all Senior Medical Officers from sourcing to Offer
  • To work closely with clinicians to understand the vacancies you are recruiting to.
  • Deliver recruitment services that align with workforce strategies
  • Provide advice on sourcing and candidate attraction strategies
  • Coach hiring managers on best practices in recruitment and assessment methods.
  • Ensure timely communication and support for candidates throughout the recruitment process.
  • Participate in health sector employment initiatives and recruitment events.
  • Proven ability to engage effectively in face-to-face communication across a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Experience using social media platforms as a strategic tool for recruitment and employer branding.

About You: 

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant field and/or equivalent experience in a senior recruitment or talent role.
  • Five years of relevant experience in an advisory position in recruitment
  • Knowledge of NZ legislation and its application in a large, complex organisation.
  • Experience working in the public health sector is preferred.
  • Strong relationship management skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
