Senior Policy Analysts - Department of Internal Affairs

What You'll Do
Our senior policy analysts get to lead policy advice processes supported by principals and managers. As a senior policy analyst in the Department, you will actively engage with stakeholders to prepare evidence-based advice for ministers and senior leaders in the public service. You will share your knowledge with more junior team members by mentoring and supporting policy analysts to produce quality work. This role provides a fantastic opportunity to enhance your skills and make a meaningful impact on New Zealand's policy landscape.
What We're Looking For
- You are already a senior policy analyst or have 3+ years' experience as a policy analyst with wide range of experiences to draw on.
- A relevant degree, where you developed your critical thinking and analytical ability. For example, law, economics, philosophy, history, social sciences and ethics.
- A great writer, you use plain English to make complex information accessible for decision makers.
- A practical understanding of how to navigate the political environment.
- Experience leading and supporting analysts to produce quality work.
- Comfort in leading engagement with communities, industry, and international stakeholders.
