Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Toitū Te Whenua is a public service organisation dedicated to understanding, developing and caring for our whenua, moana and arawai. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Business Partner to join our Commercial team to drive and enhance the businesses strategic procurement and stakeholder engagement. This role would be suited for someone who loves a challenge and can provide guidance to internal stakeholders as you will be seen as a trusted advocate across Toitū Te Whenua.
In this role you will get the opportunity to work on some interesting procurement projects, mainly in our Location Information business group, contributing to budget and procurement bids that support our Hydrographic and Topographic functions. These projects are essential for safe navigation, national mapping and providing accurate information that New Zealanders rely on every day.
About the team
The Commercial team is a part of the Business and Commercial function, which is part of the business unit designed to be an influential centre that supports the whole of our organisation. Our group combines key enterprise functions to drive efficiencies and support Toitū Te Whenua's ongoing performance.
He pūkenga tou - Skills and experience
- Experience in partnering with business units undertaking procurement activities to effectively deliver and enable great outcomes, achieve public value, and manage risk
- Experience in leading procurement activities of a high risk / high value nature
- Ability to identify strategic procurement risks and opportunities then further develop a portfolio/category strategy
- Skilled in identifying and leading continuous improvement activities that can add value to procurement approaches, processes, resources, and systems
- Understand effective supplier relationship and contract management
- Support procurement and commercial capability development
- Be a team player who embodies Toitū Te Whenua's BEST values - Bold, Expert, Stronger Together
The expected appointing range for this role is $125,000 - $135,000 depending on experiences. This role is based in our Wellington offices.
