Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the Role

We have a unique opportunity for a Senior Security Advisor to join the Corporate and Shared Services team. This is a permanent role where you will provide expert risk and operational security advice to a range of internal and external stakeholders, to ensure that our information is kept safe and managed appropriately.

In this role you will collaborate with our Technology, Information Management and Project teams as well as business owners and key stakeholders.  You will provide guidance and advice to ensure the required processes are followed for certification and accreditation as well as producing operational reporting and analysis to a high standard.

The specific experience, skills, and qualities that will help you succeed in this role include:

  • A strong understanding of government security best practices, policies, strategies, and initiatives
  • Working collaborative across Treasury
  • Experience with security engineering and monitoring in the cloud
  • Proven track record as someone who enjoys delivering a client focused service
  • An understanding of the New Zealand Information Security Manual (NZISM)
  • Strong experience with security risk assessments and the certification and accreditation (C&A) process
  • Experience in identifying threats, risks and security controls that are efficient and effective
  • A strong client focus
