Job Description
Lead from the front. Own the outcomes. Grow a winning team.
Are you ready to step into a leadership role where your decisions matter, your team respects you, and your results drive real business growth?
Our client is on the hunt for a high-performing Service Manager to take the reins of their Dunedin-based plumbing division — a thriving arm of a respected nationwide business. This is a chance to shape a team, elevate performance, and deliver exceptional results.
This is a leadership role with full responsibility for team performance, customer satisfaction, and commercial outcomes.
The Dunedin service team plays a critical role in delivering plumbing solutions to a loyal and growing base of domestic and light commercial clients. With a great reputation already in place, we’re looking for someone who can bring fresh thinking, confident leadership, and a clear operational focus to take the business unit to the next level.
What is the opportunity?
You’ll be leading a team of skilled tradespeople and office based-staff, keeping things sharp, focused, and firing on all cylinders. You’ll be responsible for:
- Driving operational excellence – from daily workflow to long-term strategy
- Owning financial performance – budgets, margins, and commercial smarts
- Building and strengthening client relationships – Maintaining trusted relationships with existing clients while identifying and pursuing growth opportunities
- High standards of workmanship - inspire pride, productivity, and accountability
- Championing health, safety, and wellbeing – because people come first
Who are we after?
You’re not just a manager – you’re a leader. You know how to motivate, strategise, and roll your sleeves up when needed. Maybe you’ve led a plumbing team before or another trade, either way, you know how to run a tight, successful operation. While a plumbing qualification would be beneficial, it’s not essential — what matters is your experience managing technical or trade-based teams and your confidence in leading a business unit.
You’ll also bring:
- Solid experience in team leadership and operational management
- Confidence with numbers, systems, and commercial decisions
- A natural ability to influence and communicate across all levels – from toolbox and onsite meetings to client briefings.
- A hands-on mindset – you’re comfortable on job sites and in the boardroom
Why this role?
Are you ready for more, more challenge, more impact? This is an opportunity to grow a respected local team into something even greater.
This is your opportunity to lead with purpose, build on a winning culture, and drive real results in a division with momentum.
