Mō tēnei tūranga - about the role
Reporting to the Manager Regional Equipment & Logistics Service Centre, this is a dynamic role with a diverse set of responsibilities. You will be part of a small team of service technicians and Logistics Support personnel. Day to day some of the duties you will be responsible for will involve:
- Providing face-to-face service to FENZ operational personnel
- Providing operational equipment and operational equipment asset distribution, management and maintenance, servicing, testing and certification
- Establishment and maintaining relationships across similar organisations regarding equipment management and maintenance
- Storage and distribution for a wide range of emergency response materials
- Records, data, and information management
- Involved in various projects related to equipment and logistics service improvement

This is a fast paced and dynamic role that requires a hands-on, flexible approach, and excellent customer facing skills. You will bring a wide range of experience as a technician along with leadership skills and patience for teaching and mentoring/developing the regional operational staff in operational equipment care and husbandry.
To be successful in this role, we'd expect you will:
- A strong understanding of the full range of Fire and Emergency operational equipment and its operating environments
- Demonstrated workflow forecasting and prioritisation skills
- Demonstrated skill with diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing equipment including small engines, from chainsaws to generators or pumps
- Problem solving towards range of sometimes complex mechanical or engineering challenges
- Excellent prioritisation and time management skills
