Job Description

Manage trade settlements, custody instructions, and reconciliations in a collaborative investment operations team located in Auckland CBD.

About the Role:

This 6-month Settlements Officer role sits within the operations team of a well-regarded financial services firm based in Auckland’s CBD.

You'll be supporting a portfolio of investment clients, handling everything from trade matching and custody instructions to reconciliation and settlements. This is a great opportunity to take ownership of client processes in a collaborative, multicultural environment.

It’s a strong fit for someone with a couple of years’ experience in financial services—ideally from a custodian, broker, bank, or fund admin background—who enjoys the pace of daily operations and working closely with both internal teams and external custodians.

In This Role You May Be:

  • Managing settlement processes across multiple asset classes and client portfolios
  • Handling trade matching and instruction processes across global markets
  • Monitoring and resolving reconciliation breaks in collaboration with clients and custodians
  • Ensuring deadlines are consistently met with a focus on quality and accuracy
  • Supporting process documentation, controls, and gradual automation initiatives
  • Building relationships with custodians, brokers, and other financial institutions
  • Contributing to a high-performing team culture and knowledge-sharing environment
About You:
  • You’ve worked in a bank, broker, fund administrator, or custodian for 2+ years
  • You’re familiar with trade lifecycle processes—matching, settlements, and reconciliations
  • FX knowledge is a plus, but not essential
  • You’re detail-oriented, take pride in your work, and stay on top of deadlines
  • You communicate clearly and enjoy building relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • You’re proactive, methodical, and comfortable adapting to client-specific needs
What You’ll Get in Return:
  • A collaborative, culturally diverse team that value quality and knowledge sharing
  • Structured training and a supportive onboarding process designed for success
  • A professional working environment based in Auckland CBD, with close proximity to the waterfront
  • Potential immediate start for approximately 6-month, with potential for extension
  • Hands-on experience in settlements, trades, and investments with gradual responsibility growth
