The role is fixed term to align with funding availability.

In the role of Publications Lead - Prevention, you will support our Counter Fraud Centre advisory team in the production of impactful case studies, guides and other reports that most effectively draw on and highlight the SFO's significant expertise and experience in how fraud against the public sector is perpetrated. You will be accountable for the production aspects of prevention publications to an exacting standard by providing our Counter Fraud advisors with expert direction on the structure, messaging and content of published material, ensuring it meets the needs of agencies.

In the role you will report to our Principal Counter Fraud Advisor who is Wellington based. Your remit is focused on content and collateral advice and creation, and report writing and editing for our Counter Fraud Centre. You will work closely with Counter Fraud subject matter experts and Operations team to inform your work. You will collaborate with our Communications and Engagement Lead about publication and distribution of products, and at times provide cover in their absence across their remit.

To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated achievement in broad communications or media roles with a focus on content and publications, with an ability to identify and mitigate legal risk.  Experience working within or with the New Zealand public sector is beneficial. You are an accomplished wordsmith and apply your craft appropriately across platforms and audiences. An effective and engaging communicator, you enjoy constructing and delivering compelling messaging. Highly collaborative, you have an ability to quickly understand facts, complexities, and intent, to inform your work product.

At the SFO we value a ‘growth mindset' and explore this attribute during our recruitment process and in our development discussions.  We believe possessing a growth mindset is a key contributor to success in the SFO environment.  We are a close, motivated team with a strong workplace culture. We recognise that diversity and inclusion is important to our work. We value the unique abilities and perspectives of our employees which allows us to continue to create a supportive environment that meets the needs of our people, our business, and the communities where we work. We are a flexible organisation, guided by our Flexible Working Policy.  We offer an additional week of annual leave that covers the three usual workdays between Christmas and New Year plus two days to use at your discretion.
