About the role
Reporting to the Quality Manager, the purpose of this position is to ensure maintenance of the Risk Management Programmes (RMPs) and compliance to the Quality Management System of the business.
  
The hours of work are 6am – 2.30pm, and once or twice a week, the start time will be 4am for weekly swabbing, finishing at 12.30pm – 40 hour work week.
  
You will be based at the East Auckland site but will be required to assist the wider team at other sites on occasion.
  
Duties
  • Ensure processes and products comply with internal and external stakeholder requirements
  • Have full oversight of quality responsibilities for the Site, with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Provide technical support to the site and management
  • Manage the day-to-day food safety and quality function
Skills and experience
You will need experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), internal audits, calibration, maintenance and non-conformance management, and ideally, experience in animal welfare and inspection.
  
Highly skilled in verbal communication, you will have strong written communication skills, a proactive and solution-focused approach, and the ability to build connections and influence others, with well-developed people skills at all levels within the business, including the factory floor.  
  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • Experience in an operational quality role is essential
  • Ability to work in an environment where animals are processed for food purposes
  • Collaborative by nature, with a highly engaging manner
