Job Description

  • Auckland-based with hybrid working
  • Strategic customer engagement
  • Software development background required

Are you customer facing software consultant who enjoys working within a dedicated customer relationship partnership between enterprise level customer and software consultancy?

We’re looking for a Software Consultant with a solid development background and a flair for customer engagement. This newly created role is designed to serve as the primary connection between our consultancy customer and a dedicated enterprise client.

You won’t be managing people or leading technically hands-on work, but you will be the key connector – someone who deeply understands both our customer’s needs and how our teams work internally. You’ll drive continuous improvement, build trusted relationships, and help shape delivery.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Act as the main liaison between the consultancy and customer, supporting delivery and solution quality across multiple development streams.
  • Work closely with internal development and project teams, providing guidance and advisory support.
  • Maintain a strong on-site presence: based in Auckland with the flexibility to work on-site with the customer as required.
  • Develop strong, trust-based relationships with customer stakeholders at both strategic and operational levels.
  • Help our teams stay aligned with customer goals, strategy, and expectations.
  • Support workforce planning and team coordination alongside Project Managers.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, helping our client to deliver smarter, faster, and better.

What we’re looking for:

  • A strong technical background, ideally as a former developer, with experience across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Experience working as anapplication/software consultant role with significant customer-facing time.
  • A trusted advisor with a customer success mindset, who can promote ideas, solve problems, and facilitate effective collaboration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proven ability to work between technical and business teams – translating needs, managing expectations, and helping define the right solutions.
  • Highly organised, proactive, and confident managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Ideally, previous experience in a softwareconsulting role within a professional services or tech environment.
  • Must be Auckland-based and comfortable with on-site client engagement.

All applicants must be currently based in Auckland with full NZ working rights.
