About the Role

Our Radiology department is seeking a casual Sonographer to provide quality imaging services within a busy hospital-based setting.  This role includes acute, inpatient, emergency, obstetric, vascular, and community referrals, with opportunities to contribute to across a wide scope of ultrasound practice.

You will be supported by a professional and friendly team of Radiologists and Sonographers and will work collaboratively to provide timely, accurate, and patient-centred care.  This is a casual position – with work assigned on an ‘as required' basis, and is based at Whakatāne Hospital, with occasional opportunities to work across at Tauranga Hospital when required.

About you

To be successful in the role, we are looking for a candidate who is flexible and a technically confident Sonographer who takes pride in clear communication, compassionate care, and high-quality imaging.  You will be comfortable working independently or within a small team, and you will bring a proactive, calm energy to your day.

What you will bring: 

  • Current registration with the Medical Radiation Technologists Board (MRTB)
  • A recognised general sonography qualification (e.g. DMU, Postgraduate Diploma, or equivalent)
  • Skills in additional areas such as vascular or musculoskeletal ultrasound (preferred)
  • A warm, professional presence and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to patient-centred care and strong clinical standards
