The opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Specialist Clinical Pharmacist to join our Refugee Health team based at the Mangere Refugee Centre. This is a unique opportunity to work in a specialist, multidisciplinary environment committed to culturally responsive care. This is a part time position working 3 days a week between Mon-Fri, the hours from 8am to 4:30pm.

Responsibilities will include;

  • Provide expert clinical pharmacy services, including medication history, reconciliation, and monitoring
  • Apply advanced knowledge, clinical reasoning and expertise while modelling evidence-based practice
  • Lead/participate collaboratively in case reviews and debrief as required specific to specialty. 
  • Act as an expert resource providing specialist clinical advice and support to other clinicians on decisions on patient care or knowledge and skill development. 
  • Identify clinical risk and take appropriate action to mitigate/manage. 

We are looking for a pharmacist who is:

  • New Zealand Registered Pharmacist with current APC
  • Postgraduate qualification - at least a Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent 
  • 5 years of recent experience in provision of clinical pharmacy in several areas in a hospital setting. 
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in the designated area and demonstrated ability to practice at a specialist level. 
  • Demonstrated clinical leadership skills and ability to engage various stakeholders in change processes and quality improvement
