About the Role
As a Specialty Clinical Nurse, you will be working in the Outpatients Department at Kaitaia Hospital to ensure the delivery of an effective, appropriate, and personalised pre-admission service to all elective surgery clients. This involves coordination of review for all relevant clinicians for pre-admission assessments during allocated appointment times. You will demonstrate advanced nursing practice, improve patient care and flow by making clinical decisions that involve creative input.

Kaitaia Hospital is Health New Zealand's northernmost hospital. It is a general hospital serving a widely scattered population. The 20 bed hospital has a general ward, maternity and emergency ward with all the supporting services, and provides a substantial community health service.

About you
As a Specialty Clinical Nurse, you need to have excellent communication and time management skills, who excels in both patient education and staff training environments.
- Current New Zealand Practicing Certificate
- 5 years post graduate clinical experience, with 3 years' experience in the surgical nursing area
- Holds or is working towards a Post Graduate Certificate incorporating Health Assessment & Diagnostic Reasoning
- Commitment to ongoing quality improvement and patient safety
Previous experience in Theatre, Anaesthetics, or Recovery is preferred, however not essential to apply.
