About the Role
Nelson Hospital is seeking a highly organised and detailed - orientated individual to join our administrative support team as a Coordinator. This position is part of a team of 3 responsible for booking patient and staff travel along with booking accommodation and conferences. This is an integral role within the organisation providing a service to the entire Nelson Marlborough district.
As a Staff and Patient Travel Coordinator, your duties will include:
- Coordinating staff travel arrangements, including transportation, accommodation and itineraries,
- Organizing accommodation and travel for patients when required ,
- Planning and booking conferences and professional development events for staff.
The working hours are between 8.00AM and 4.30PM, Monday to Friday.
It is a permanent full-time role working 80 hours per fortnight (1.0 FTE).

About you
As a Staff and Patient Travel Coordinator, you will have:
- Proven experience in administrative or secretarial roles, preferably in a healthcare setting,
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritise and multitask in a busy environment ,
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with healthcare management systems,
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills ,
- A high level of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information ,
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment ,
- Knowledge of medical terminology is an advantage but not essential ,
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
Our preferred applicants will be required to undertake a computer skills assessment.
The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of applying.
