Ara whiwhi mahi - The opportunity

This is a team leadership role that plays a crucial role for IR. You will lead and support a high-performing team which provides business support and governance advice and support to our Executive Leadership team and senior managers.

You will:

  • lead, coach and develop your people to deliver quality services and better customer outcomes
  • support your team to improve customer experience and champion IR's customer-centric and intelligence culture
  • act as an escalation or assistance point to support resolution of complex issues and better customer outcomes
  • you will be instrumental in supporting the team to provide continuous service improvement for our customers and champion Te Pou o te Tangata behaviours
  • provide oversight to team members to ensure consistency, quality and stewardship of business support and governance services to support better outcomes for our customers
  • work with each of your people to ensure their development is proactively planned and managed.

To be successful in this position, you will possess some of the following attributes:

  • Proven experience in leading teams to achieve goals and outcomes
  • Proven ability to effectively manage relationships at the most senior levels
  • Ability to demonstrate experience in applying a continuous improvement mindset across systems and processes
  • An ability to explain the 'why' behind our direction and decisions, so your people feel connected and know how their everyday work contributes to IR's goals and outcomes.
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to motivate and empower people through coaching
  • The ability to make effective decisions that consider the impacts and interdependencies
