About the role

Are you a skilled Clinical Coder with strong leadership experience and a passion for quality and accuracy? We are seeking a motivated Team Leader - Clinical Coding to provide day-to-day leadership of our Clinical Coding service.

In this pivotal role, you will oversee service delivery, support your team to meet deadlines, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration. This is an excellent opportunity to step into a leadership role where you can make a real impact on health data quality and clinical outcomes.

As the Team Leader, you will:

  • Provide daily operational leadership and support for the Clinical Coding team.
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and high-quality clinical coding in accordance with national standards.
  • Lead and motivate the team, managing performance, workflow, and deadlines.
  • Promote a positive and collaborative team environment based on trust, excellence, and accountability.
  • Contribute to coding policy development, process improvements, and training initiatives.

About you

Essential:

  • Completion of HIMAA Introductory or Intermediate ICD-10-AM ACHI & ACS Clinical Coding Course, or ACE Certified Coding Course
  • At least 5 years - clinical coding experience across a range of specialties
  • Proven team leadership or supervisory experience, ideally within a health setting
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills
  • A commitment to data accuracy, service quality, and team development

Desirable:

  • HIMAA Advanced ICD-10-AM ACHI & ACS Clinical Coding Course
  • Current certification in ICD-10-AM ACHI & ACS (latest edition)
  • Experience in clinical coding audits
