About the Role
SIACL is seeking a highly skilled Technical Advisor to provide expert guidance and training to our airport operations team at Honiara and Munda Airports. This role is essential in ensuring compliance with Civil Aviation Rule (CAR) Part 139 and enhancing operational standards. You will work report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) while maintaining functional relationships with key operational managers.
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Refine and enhance aerodrome-related documentation (Exposition Documents, Airport Emergency Plan, Rescue Fire Manual, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with Civil Aviation Rules, ICAO standards.
  • Conduct audits and implement corrective actions.
  • Mentor and train operational teams while updating key training materials and manuals.
  • Oversee wildlife hazard management, FOD control, and safety practices.

What We’re Looking For

  • 8–10 years of experience in airfield operations, including wildlife hazard management, FOD control, and airfield maintenance.
  • Proven expertise in NZ CAR Part 139, ICAO regulations, and aviation safety systems.
  • At least 3 years of experience in internal auditing, compliance reviews, and corrective action implementation.
  • Strong leadership skills with a collaborative and culturally sensitive approach.
  • Excellent technical writing skills for creating and maintaining operational manuals.
  • Effective stakeholder engagement and problem-solving abilities.

Education & Certifications

  • Degree in aviation or related field.
  • Civil Aviation training and certificates.
  • Formal qualifications or training in Safety Management Systems.
