Join our team and use your experience as a test analyst to support the delivery of our Payroll and HRIS Replacement Programme.
Mō tēnei tūranga - about the role
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Test Analyst to hit the ground running in this fixed term position to support out payroll and HRIS replacement programme. Your responsibilities will include:
- Analysing the business requirements and drafting high level and detailed test scenarios
- Conducting Unit and system integration testing, interface and API testing Parallel pay run testing, and end to end testing scenarios
- Ensuring that all the test activity is completed within the agreed timeframes
- Quality Assurance and reporting
This is a fixed-term role from now until approximately December 2026, offering the opportunity to make a lasting impact within a high-trust public service environment that supports both career and volunteer personnel across Aotearoa.
Ko tāu nā i tēnei tūranga - What you'll bring to the role:
Bring your proven experience as a test analyst within a complex enterprise environment. You will have experience in defect lifecycle management and familiarity with test tools (e.g. Azure DevOps, JIRA). It would be an advantage to have experience testing Workday or Dayforce.
To be successful in this role, we'd expect you will:
- Proven experience in testing payroll solutions in a complex enterprise environment
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation and practice
- Experience with large-scale data migrations and validation techniques
- Ability to write clear, traceable test cases from business process design and configuration
- Strong relationship building skills to work with multiple vendors and internal stakeholders
- Previous involvement in integration/API testing (JSON/XML payload awareness is ideal)
