We're looking for a dynamic Venue Manager to take the reins and oversee all aspects of this multifaceted operation.
The Role
As Venue Manager, you'll be the beating heart of the business ensuring smooth day-to-day operations across the bar, kitchen, accommodation, gaming and events. You'll have a direct hand in creating an unforgettable experience for every guest, whether they're popping in for a pint or staying the weekend.

The Role
As Venue Manager, you'll be the beating heart of the business ensuring smooth day-to-day operations across the bar, kitchen, accommodation, gaming and events. You'll have a direct hand in creating an unforgettable experience for every guest, whether they're popping in for a pint or staying the weekend.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Running daily operations across the pub, restaurant, gaming area, accommodation (9 rooms), and events
- Leading, training and motivating a close-knit, high-energy team
- Coordinating live music nights, private functions, and promotional events in coordination with the marketing & events coordinator
- Managing bookings, housekeeping coordination and guest experience for hotel guests
- Ensuring compliance with liquor, gaming, and accommodation regulations
- Handling stock control, supplier relations, and general venue admin
- Building new systems and processes to improve efficiency and guest experience, while making the most of existing tech and operational tools
What You Bring
You're an experienced leader who thrives in a busy, social environment and understands how to juggle multiple moving parts with a smile. You care deeply about hospitality, team culture, and creating spaces people love to be in.
Ideally, you'll have:
- Proven experience managing a hospitality venue with accommodation and bistro/bar operations
- Being commercially savvy with strong financial skills managing budgets, rostering, and venue performance with confidence
- A current NZ Manager's Certificate (essential)
- Strong people leadership and the ability to manage cross-functional teams
- Experience (or confidence) managing guest accommodation and front-of-house processes
- Familiarity with hospitality management systems like Loaded, Talkbox or similar
- A love for live music, good food, great beer and community vibes
- Flexibility to work a rotating 7-day roster, including weekends and evenings
