About the Role - Kōrero mō te Tūranga
Join the Stakeholder Engagement team at New Zealand Food Safety (NZFS) and support food safety through impactful design.
We're looking for a Visual Designer to implement customer-centric visual design across digital and print platforms, ensuring our communications are accessible, engaging, and aligned with NZFS' visual identity and the Ministry for Primary Industries' brand.
You'll work within the Stakeholder Engagement team, partnering with internal and external clients to deliver informational content, collateral, educational content. Your work will support food businesses to meet their responsibilities and contribute to a safer food system for all New Zealanders.
About You – Mōu
Utilise your creativity and problem-solving skills to continue to develop New Zealand Food Safety's strong visual identity and contribute to meaningful public service outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- A recognised design qualification (essential)
- Strong skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- A customer-centred design mindset and an eye for detail
- Experience in visual storytelling, layout, and accessibility
- Excellent planning, collaboration, and communication skills

About the Team - Mō tō mātou Rōpū
Reporting to the Manager Stakeholder Engagement, you will contribute to a Wellington-based team in the Regulatory Support & Performance directorate. The team play a key role in designing and delivering effective and balanced engagement and communications for New Zealand Food Safety.
You will work alongside a Senior Engagement Adviser, Engagement Adviser and a Senior Visual Designer to support New Zealand Food Safety's Deputy Director-General, and key customers. In addition, you will work alongside a dynamic and energetic team who manage NZFS' Exporter Help and Food Importer Advice services, assisting with implementing designs for their resources.
