With around 100 permanent employees, split between Auckland and Christchurch this company are innovators and design experts working on a variety of engineering projects, across water, land and the energy sector.
  
About the role
On a daily basis, you’ll be a visible and approachable leader for all matters related to safety, health and wellbeing. A pragmatic approach is needed to provide advice and guidance on how to ensure site work is safe, working collaboratively with the technical teams. You’ll be the subject matter expert on developing and implementing new initiatives and best practices.
  
Duties
  • Leverage the existing Health and Safety framework to drive improvement and build staff capability
  • Conduct regular site visits and audits to remote locations
  • Track, analyse and report on WHS performance to SLT
  • Implement wellbeing initiatives  
Skills and experience
Ideally you will come from a construction or engineering related background but most of all you’ll be collaborative and able to be flexible in your approach. You will have a practical application of legislation and be driven to continuous improvement.  
  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • Able to train, coach/mentor others in a professional services industry
  • Willing to travel domestically to remote locations approx. once per month
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
